Digital Securities (Security Token) Trading Digital Securities (Security Token) has been formerly defined as a regulated financial instrument under enforcement of the revised Financial Instrument and Exchange Act in May 2020. POC projects around STO have been taken place by the major financial institutions and Japan STO Association was established by leading domestic securities firms as an industrial self-regulatory body. There have been cases of tokenizing real-estate products but we have not seen a big wave of expanding the digital securities markets in Japan yet.
