Joe Sommer joined UBS Warburg in May 2002 as the Regional Head of Equities Electronic Execution - Americas.   His mission is to establish UBS Warburg as the undisputed global leader of electronic trading by collaborating with key clients to deliver  superior services and technology.  Joe has been involved in the US FIX Steering Committee for several years, and was a charter member and Sell Side Chair of RIXML.org, an industry driven XML standard for investment research.

Previously, Joe worked at CSFB, joining during the merger from Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.  At DLJ, Joe managed trading systems for its US Listed, Nasdaq, Convertibles, International Equity, and Program Trading desks.  Prior to DLJ, he was founder of Net-Vision, a consulting firm that provided systems integration services to the financial and telecommunications industries. Mr. Sommer holds a Bachelors degree from the University of California at Irvine and a Masters degree in Management and Information Systems from New York University.
