Those top tier business media such as CNBC and Bloomberg cover crypto markets on a daily basis. Although Japan is often called an IP superpower, Japan is not the country who led the NFT boom. In the seminar, Takesh Chino, the head of Kraken Japan, explains the latest crypto trend in the United States including Web3.0 and proposes what Japan should do to catch up with them.

The last year can be recognized as the dawn of regulated digital securities in Japan, as multiple cases of STO (Security Token Offering) were taken place under the Financial Instrument and Exchange Act. Liquidity of the market can be produced by the combination between the primary and secondary markets. As the launch of digital securities trading on PTS is planned in 2023, there will be more active discussions on how to build the market for ST this year. This session intends to draw a picture of the desired market structure of trading digital securities and analyze the issues which need be resolved to build its market liquidity.
