7th Annual Japan International Banking & Securities System Forum -JIBSIS 2006-
[Date] March 8, 2006
[Venue] Meguro Gajoen Tokyo
With the surge of private online investors & much help from foreign investments into the Japanese market, Japan's financial market is back on its feet. Many banks and securities companies have rid themselves of bad debt, and corporations alike are now operating in the black. It is not without its new challenges which they must quickly find both effective business process and IT solutions to however, as authorities like the FSA (Financial Services Agency) and other government bodies gear up to implement new regulations, like the Japanese version SOX and other compliance measures as early as 2008 to improve governance and protect the investors who have finally returned to the market, and to proudly align itself with the rest of the leading global financial markets. Moreover, its ambition to move to T+1 and to realize STP before any of its U.S/E.U and Asian counterparts is far from over, as Japan’s Clearing and Settlement reform lead by JSDA continues its path to paperless stocks/Certificates mandated by June 2009, as with other bonds (Electronic CP) and funds alike.
